Do you love Summer as much as I do?!
As this glorious season of fun and sun approaches, I find myself excitedly combing through Summer Must-Have articles and blogs and Today Show segments to make sure I haven’t missed anything fabulous during the dark days of winter. (Ok, I live in San Diego and I have no right to say these things. But this winter was unusually cloudy and wet, so indulge this girl.)
I decided to come up with my own must-have list this year, and it’s different than any I’ve seen. It’s short, practical and perfect for the busy #LADYBOSS who has places to go, a business to build and things to learn.
Vionic Flip Flops
The company actually calls them beach sandals, and I call them a godsend. They are super lightweight, with support and cushion for your arches (can I get a hallelujah?). Many styles have platform wedges to help those of us who are vertically challenged and all of us who shouldn’t be walking on thin pieces of rubber all day. I got my first pair while on an incentive trip at the Miraval Spa in Arizona, and I was over the moon to find the first comfortable pair of flip flops in forever. I grabbed another pair because I know I’ll live in them all summer long. Available on Vionicshoes.com, Zappos, Nordstrom and I’m sure plenty of other places.
An Audible Membership
I always have a physical, old-school book I’m reading, and now I also always have an audio book I’m listening to. I love to read, but with my crazy busy schedule, it’s not always possible to do all the things I want to do and sit and read a book. Plus, I get car sick easily, so sneaking in pages while in the passenger seat isn’t an option either. Audible to the rescue! I’m still amazed at how many people I talk to who haven’t yet jumped on the audiobook bandwagon, but I promise you’ll get to so many more fab reads in a year if you do. I will admit that a lot of the personal development books I only read hard copy because I must be able to underline, highlight and refer back. But other types of non-fiction and fiction are a joy to listen to while working out, walking, grocery shopping, doing household chores and when you want to enjoy a book but your eyes are too fried from looking at your devices all day.
A Plan
If you’re a mom who works from home, you must have a plan for how you’re going to get your work done while your kiddos are out of school and still make sure they and you have a great summer. But don’t worry, my #LADYBOSS Guide to Slay Your Summer will walk you through the very planning process I’ve been using for years, while I’ve continued to meet my biz and family goals. Download it here and get busy working on this No-BS blueprint for a less-stress summer, because it’s right around the corner!
